In the recent months, Latvia and Sweden have seen some development plans in the gaming field. It could be recalled that the parliament of Latvia decided to set a new license fee for live casino services in the country which will amount to €400,000 per year. The change will be applied from 1st January 2018 to all operators willing to offer live casino. In the meantime, the government of Sweden is discussing a new gambling framework which is aiming to put an end to the current iGaming monopoly of SvenskaSpel and allow local and international online gaming operators to enter the sector. The amended legislation is expected to take effect by 2019.
