The poker world is well on its way to witness many champions as the Caribbean Poker Party has recently started with its premium events on offer. The Main Event which is a culmination point in the structure of the poker festival also had its two starting flights bringing players from near and far to the event’s player pool, reaching some 522 entries in total.
The Main Event of this poker festival is one of the most appealing ones, as it features a significant prize pool guaranteed by the mandatory prize pool. The $5,300 Main Event commenced its run with Day 1a on Saturday. The prize pool for this event is set at $10 million providing significant cash payouts to those claiming the top positions on the official leader board. partypoker is a leading name in the poker world and as such it is well-known for its generous cash prizes and guaranteed prize pools.
Poekr Action Commences at Baha Mar
Premium poker was available on site at the Baha Mar Casino and Hotel at the very beginning of Saturday as players were more than willing to make it in and claim their spot on Day 2 of the premium poker event. Some 185 players made it in in this starting flight, but only 115 of them succeeded in surviving all levels of this day. Francois Billard was the player who climbed all the way to the top with his impressive chip count of 4,050,000.
Kristen Bicknell was another player worth mentioning at the end of this starting flight, as she is a renown poker player with some $2,289,640 to her name. This time she bagged 3,260,000 at the end of this Day 1a. This is how all survivors of this day now have their time to possibly participate in the remaining various poker events of the Caribbean Poker Party festival until it is time for Day 2 of this event, or register in some of the satellite events.
A total of 337 players registered for participation but only 202 of them managed to survive the heated poker action and make it to the other side. The chip leader at the end of this first starting flight was Jason Tompkins with his chip stack of 4,570,000 who managed to accumulate it throughout the entire day.
More Starting Flights to Come
Another prominent player at the end of this first starting flight was Eric Afriat who ranked third on the daily rank list with some 4,005,000 to his name. It should be taken into account that the Canadian player has claimed World Poker Tour first place two times in his live poker career and has a total of $2,766,153 in cash generated throughout his poker career.
The runner-up position at the end of this second starting flight was occupied by Anton Nocera from the US with his chip stack of 4,030,000. Toby Lewis, who made it to the Aussie Millions Main Event throne this January also made an appearance on Day 1a of the Caribbean Poker Party. By the end of the day, he had generated some 3,710,000 in chips, reserving a spot on Day 2 of the poker event.
Day 1c is set to bring the third batch of players to the field on Monday. In addition to that, the following two days will see more poker action progressing all the way to 17th November, which will welcome Day 5 and the big champion of this premium event. While the Main Event is in progress numerous satellite events providing seats will also be in progress.
