Churchill Downs Racetrack is one of the iconic gambling locations in Louisville, Kentucky since it is widely known as the home of the Kentucky Derby, which took place recently. Soon after the official ruling of the United States Supreme Court on the legality of sports betting across the states it became known that the location has decided to ink a new partnership with Golden Nugget which is expected to see the racetrack making its way into the online gambling field of New Jersey.
It is not a secret to anyone that gambling operators in the field have been actively seeking ways in which they could enter the future sports betting field if the SCOTUS rules in favor of the industry and removes the ban on sports wagering. This week became a memorable one as for the first time since 1992 placing bets on sports events is considered legal and each state has the freedom to provide the needed regulations and enter the field. Only two days after the decision has been announced businesses in the field are already working towards achieving their set goals.
In order to meet the high expectations of its customers and provide them with a well-rounded and diverse entertainment the management of this racetrack facility have listened to their advice and are going to make their way into new territories. The first Sunday of May witnessed the 144th Kentucky Derby which took place in Louisville, Kentucky where as many as 20 horses will run for the big prize of $2 million. This Wednesday brought the announcement of the new arrangement which Churchill Downs entered with Atlantic City’s most profitable gambling locations.
Potential of the Ventures for the Racetrack
The Golden Nugget also offers online gaming to its customers along with its land-based operation. The Chief Executive Officer of the racetrack Bill Carstanjen made clear his position that the location has a lot on offer to the online gaming world. As for the legislation process, this deal is going to be subjected to the final decision of the states and the regulations which will be introduced soon.
Churchill Down’s devotion to the idea is set to become clear in the forthcoming weeks as the racetrack is going to enter both the iGaming and sports betting markets. In order for this to happen the gaming solutions would also have to be in a top-notch form which is why Churchill Downs has decided to enter a second arrangement with SBTech. According to the arrangement, the London-based iGaming solutions provider is going to supply the racetrack with a reliable integrated platform which to make the operation easier and hassle-free.
The projected launch of sports betting offerings and iGaming in New Jersey was set to the first months of 2019, giving all operators involved enough time to prepare and come up with the best solutions. In the meantime, it was also announced that the racetrack is going to make an attempt to offer live sports betting at its two venues located in Greenville and Vicksburg, Mississippi.
