Oliver Meerkamp Claims Chip Lead at GPT Easter Edition Main Event Day 1b

Poker action in the King’s Casino is in full swing and the venue located in Rozvadov is currently experiencing the riveting poker game called German Poker Tour Easter Edition Main Event which brings out big cashes to its players. The Easter Edition poker festival has been in progress for the past couple of days and it finally reached its culmination event. This Friday saw the official Day 1b of poker action which introduced new players to the overall player field, all of them willing to reach the throne.

This Monday is scheduled to see the official final table of the culminating event which means that poker action on the tables is already fast-paced and looking for the best in players. This second out of three starting flights drew as many as 251 new players at the beginning of Friday and this increased the overall number of participants immensely.

With their contribution, the total number of entries in the Main Event rank list reached a total of 459 people. Some 55 of them were eliminated sooner than expected and luckily they had the option of re-entering the field and using their second chance to reach far in the Main Event of this German Poker Tour Easter Edition.

Riveting Main Event Poker Action

Only 153 of them made it to the flip side of the poker action with the help of their poker skills and how well they played their cards. Each participant had to invest as much as €299 before taking their seat on one of the poker tables at the well-known poker room of King’s Casino. This guaranteed them the chance to play for a fair share of the guaranteed prize pool amounting to some €200,000.

Judging by the interest expressed towards the culminating event, this prize pool could become an even larger amount. The official chip leader at the end of the second starting flight of the Main Event is Oliver Meerkamp from Germany. At the moment he has a chip stack amounting to 434,800 in chips which is more than the chip leader from the first starting flight of this Main Event.

It could be recalled that up to this point the cheap lead in the Main Event rank list was reserved for a poker player from Germany with the nickname Prof. Dr. Bär who had a total of 351,900 in chips. Meerkamp has the chance to meet all surviving players as the leading player in the unofficial leader board.

The runner-up position at the end of Day 1b was claimed by Jan Bandura from Slovakia who had 376,000 in chips at the end of the poker action. As for the third place on the leader board, Romanian poker player Eduard Moraru claimed it after he generated a total of 355,000 in chips. Day 1c of the Main Event is scheduled to commence this Saturday and bring new players to the poker tables.
