The Main Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit which is currently in progress in Tulsa, Oklahoma has come to an end, as this Monday saw the official final table of poker action and generous payouts to all surviving players who made it this far in the tournament. The big winner in this culminating event was Jonathan Poche from Youngsville, Los Angeles, who claimed the throne which comes with the prize of $216,307 as well as the coveted by hundreds WSOP Circuit Ring.
It could be recalled, that Day 2 of the poker tournament finished with only ten players remaining on their seats at the Hard Rock casino which is hosting this stop of the WSOP Circuit. A total of 54 players returned for the second day and they were systematically eliminated by their rivals. The chip leader at the end of this Sunday’s poker action was Charles Adkins from Amarillo, Texas, a player who had a pocket full of 2,500,000 in chips, double the amount that most of the remaining players have.
All remaining players continued ahead to Day 3 which was when the final table took place. The chip leader from Day 1C Chad Smith managed to reach the runner-up position on the unofficial leader board with his 1,950,000 back on Day 2, and this was foreshadowing of what was to come.
Final Day of Poker Action
Poche was the chip leader in Day 1A, the first starting flight of the Main Event and this good fortune followed him throughout the whole event. He returned for Day 2 of action with a total of 379,000 in chips which guaranteed him a certain leverage above a big chunk of the poker field.
This victory comes as his second one at a WSOP Circuit Main Event, as the first one came in 2011. That was also his first participation in a live poker tournament which gave a flying start to his live poker career. Poche played in the WSOP Circuit which had its stop in New Orleans and back then the culminating event featured a buy-in amounting to some $1,600. This guaranteed him a spot among all players and he climbed his way to the top and the $121,017 coming with it.
This was also his largest prize won in a live poker tournament up to this Monday when he claimed the Main Event first-place prize. The runner-up position on the official leader board of the culminating event was reserved for Chad Smith who could not outplay Poche in the heads-up duel and had to settle for the consolation prize of $133,349.
The third place was taken by Mashir Khan coming straight from Edmond, Oklahoma who received a total of $98,308. After the end of this last event, the poker action is moving to Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas where the next stop of the WSOP Circuit is currently in progress.
