King’s Casino Rozvadov is once again playing host to one of the hottest live poker series – partypoker LIVE Millions. The €5,300 Main Event of the ongoing partypoker LIVE Millions Germany festival concluded its second of four starting flights last night.
There were 94 entries, including eight re-entries, to join the event’s field on Wednesday, but only 27 of them will progress into Day 2. Organizers called it a day after the scheduled twelve 40-minute levels were played at King’s Casino. A German player nicknamed ggbn bagged and tagged the largest chip stack of the night.
The player managed to accumulate a total of 10.27 million to secure the overnight chip lead. Ggbn was also the only survivor to pass the 10-million mark last night. Here it is important to note further that he holds more chips than the Day 1a chip leader, Viktor Blom. On Tuesday night, the Swedish poker pro emerged as the chip leader of the tournament’s first starting flight with 8.805 million.
As mentioned above, a total of 94 entries paid the buy-in fee of €5,300 on Wednesday to enter its second starting flight. Together with the 209 entries from Day 1a, they brought the field to 303 participants. It is believed that more players will join on Days 1c and 1d, which are set for today.
The Main Event comes with a guaranteed prize pool of €5 million. It is yet to be seen whether it will be exceeded.
Who Else Made It through Day 1b
Notables to complete the event’s second starting flight included Manig Loeser, Bertrand Grospellier, and Mike Leah, among others. The players will return to Day 2 of the event on Friday to contend for the title. They will be joined by the 70 hopefuls who survived Day 1a as well as by the Days 1c and 1d survivors.
The field will be gradually whittled down to a champion who will be crowned after the official final table is played on Sunday. Payouts and the winner’s prize are yet to be determined.
While there were many notables to lock their seats into Day 2, there were also quite some popular poker professionals to bust throughout Day 1b. The likes of Maria Lampropulos, who recently won the 2018 PCA $10,300 Main Event, Italian poker star Mustapha Kanit, Germany’s Ole Schemion, and partypoker ambassadors Philipp Gruissem, Johnny Lodden, and Joao Simao were also among those to lose all their chips throughout Day 1b.
Action at King’s Casino Rozvadov is set to resume today at noon local time with Day 1c. The final starting flight of the event, Day 1d, is also scheduled to be played today. It will commence at 5 pm local time. As mentioned earlier, the survivors from the four starting flights will then return at the host venue on Friday for Day 2 play.
