WSOPE throughout the Years
Ever since its inaugural edition back in 2007, the WSOPE has been striving to replicate the feeling it is able to give the players in Las Vegas. In 2007 the first-ever winner of WSOPE gold bracelet was Thomas Bihl from Germany. The festival has taken place in various locations around Europe. The 2008 edition of the festival was in the Empire in Leicester Square, London and this was where the festival was held for the next two years.
In 2011 the location was changed and poker enthusiasts competed in the the Majestic Barrière Cannes. The latest WSOPE was located in the very heart of Europe – Berlin, Germany. The winner in the Main Event then was Kevin MacPhee from the United States and he defeated 313 players in order to lay his hands on the gold bracelet and the €883,000 coming with it.
