In the world of poker, there are new ventures springing every day. The latest one comes from a well-known poker professional with a long career and participation in many poker championships around the world. The American player Phil Galfond recently announced that he is launching his new project called Draftboard. With it the poker player is diving straight into the world of daily fantasy sports, thus diversifying his portfolio and aiming to reach even wider spectrum of players.
The Draftboard site is the result of the hard work which Galfond and Chief Executive Officer Dan Quinn put into the new project. Their entrance into the market of daily fantasy sports could be considered a brave step since there are not many new players on that field in general. The biggest companies, which own the majority of the sector are DraftKings and FanDuel, so the initial stages of Draftboard might not be spectacular, but only time will tell how the new venture is going to flourish with its fresh offerings. Draftboard is going to be the breath of fresh air which might turn out to be much-needed in this industry. Galfond is aiming to create a space where players have the freedom to work with a level playing field which is designed for both single and multi-entry users.
There is not that much when it comes to the basic characteristics of the DFS platform Draftborad. It is still going to offer salary-cap style games just like every other DFS operator in the industry. However there are two major improvements which surpass the performance of its rivals, and the co-founders have come up with them as an upgrade to the already existing operators. The first one is the unique entry system which they have called FairMatch, creating a level playing field. The second one is the Draftboard Live section which provides the player with an overlook on the entire team while it is competing on one field. This feature is proficiently utilizing dynamic player animations making the whole experience even more immersive.
Innovation in the DFS world
The FairMatch system is going to please all players with its separate low and high stakes lobbies, which make money operations much more effortless. It provides contests which are created by randomly selecting an opponent so that the players are playing with same-level participants. There is also the multi-entry system, which matches the entries in a contest with their corresponding ones. As for the Draftboard Live section, it comes to life once the contest begins and this is the feature which makes the new platform stand out in the crowd.
Phil Galfond is known as an online poker trainer and the founder of the poker training site Run It Once. Late last year he announced that he plans on launching his very own online poker brand in the first quarter of 2017, stating the leading qualities it is going to have on offer. However, the year is entering its final quarter and the poker industry is yet to witness the launching of the said online poker brand.
